Do you think animals have a sense of humor?

Almost certainly. When dad is mowing the lawn, Toby loves nothing more than to wait until he's not looking and then put rocks on the sections of grass yet to be cut. Dad has to stop and move them all before he can continue, which is when Toby fetches more rocks and puts them on the grass. Lather, rinse, repeat. If he doesn't do it because he finds it really frakkin' funny, then I'm a Dutchman.

I like to think I'm a fairly smart person most of the time, so why did I not realise that losing 21 pounds would make my clothes unwearably baggy? Sure, I thought they'd be a little loose, but I didn't think I'd be able to take off my jeans without undoing them. Duh. So today I ventured out to the shops and bought some smaller ones. I give it a month before they're too bloody big as well.

In other news, I received a parcel this morning. At first I was confused (why would anyone send me a pair of shoes three sizes too small?) but then I saw the sender's name and the squeeing began in earnest. If you know me, you'll know that one of the things that pisses me off most is that my plans got frakked up and I haven't gotten to university yet. Therefore, I'm terribly bitter and get irrationally pissed off when I see someone wearing one of those hoodies with their uni name splattered across the front. Anyway, I opened the too-small-shoe box and inside was an obnoxiously green Laurentian university sweater. Until I get my act together and go to a uni of my own, Sam's is the next best thing. I loves it, and also you. Sweater a little more, though. And thanks for the earrings also; they're awesome!

Silly meme under the cut... )

Last thing you bought: Porcelain paints and dress fabric.

Last person you argued with: A serious one? My brother.

Do you put butter before putting the jelly on: No; both butter and jam is monstrous. Unless it’s on pancakes. Then it’s OK.

One of your nicknames as a kid: Julie Bully. Kind of ironic, really, since I was always the one getting picked on. But it rhymed, and that’s the most important thing.

Did you ever own at one time a Nsync Cd: No.

Favorite day of the week: Saturday.

Favorite Sundae topping: Hot fudge sauce.

Did you take Piano lessons: Nope.

Most frequent song played: At the moment, probably Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door by Bob Dylan.

What decade during the 20th century would you have chosen to be a teenager: I think the 90s/00s were pretty decent, actually.

Favorite shoes you have EVER owned: Aw, man. I can’t answer this! Um… I’ll say the jade green satin shoes I had for my sister’s wedding. My mum wanted me to get round toe ones, but I insisted on the pointy ones. Then the idiot photographer made us stand on the wet grass for photos and they were ruined.

Were you ever in a school talent show: No.

France is thattaway...

Hamster angst
So I've pretty much recovered from whichever nightmarish stomach bug I came down with last week. I'm a little wobbly and it utterly fecked my weekend (sorry Jess!), but I can't get too pissed because I've lost seven pounds in a week.

That's a whole stone altogether, which will almost certainly pile back on next weekend. Ross is taking me to Paris as a birthday pressie (eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh!) and the intention is to follow the crepe diet: crepes for breakfast, crepes for lunch, and a healthy balanced meal* in the evening. I am most excited! I've been to France twice before, but haven't visited Paris yet, so it should be a great weekend!

*Crepes, naturally.

Just a reminder to everybody attending Ed Byrne: the show is a week tomorrow (Mon 23rd) at 8pm (changed from 7.30 for whatever reason) in the King's Theatre. Also, if you're not Dave then you owe Ross £17.50, to be paid ASAP, plizz be thanking you.

The weekend was awesome. Tina's party was much fun, though it did suck having to leave early because of a stupid headache. I wonder what my chances of getting a new head for Christmas are?

Monday was exceptionally spiffy. Most of the day was spent shopping with Kim, Bry, and Steve, then there was meeting of Steve's family and hugging of Steve the dog who may or may not be a tad too attached to his cuddly pheasant. After that we journeyed to Asda for supplies (me clutching a glass of brandy the whole way) and then proceeded to the flat for Christmas dinner (still with the brandy). Kat and Dave cooked for 14 people and it totally kicked ass, so bravo to them and all their army of potato-peeling assistants, and thank you to Kim, Nick, and Tom for hosting the thing in the first place.  I may now need to run several marathons to work off all the stuffing and mince pies and roast potatoes. Probably won't, though. ( :
